ENG Malinche (top) is a volcano in the center of Mexico; she shares political borders between two states, Tlaxcala and Puebla. Mountain reading is a project around affectionate landscapes, as she is present in the skyline and “calls” the water to its valley; certain communities talk to her as their mother. My approach is to companionship and deepen the generational reading of frost and rain that the Mountain allows in the context of climate change. The collages also show Popocatépetl and Iztaccìhualt at the bottom, a complementary yet more difficult reading; all volcanoes are composed of photographs taken by the author over a whole year.
